In 1980, Gary W. Smith, founder of National Medical Registry and a pioneer in the locum tenens industry, placed his first healthcare professional in an Ohio burn center. In the years since, the company became a leader in healthcare staffing, locum tenens placement, and recruiting.
In 2003, National Medical Registry began a strategic expansion. In addition to National Medical Registry's established presence in the healthcare industry, the new executive management team added new markets in the recruitment business: information technology, accounting/finance, and sales/marketing. In addition, the company introduced a new service initially targeted at increasing the efficiency of hospital nurse and allied health professional scheduling.
This new direction required a name change, so National Medical Registry became Solvere - Latin for "to solve". "Solvere" fully encompasses the broad vision for the company's future - a future that included a growing number of partnerships and services.
